Middlegate Europe and Perpetum Sun, both part of the Middlegate Group and owned by CEO Kim Notman, wanted to officially open the new buildings with the necessary grandeur. With over 3.000.000 pounds of investments in the Hull region in 2012, both companies wanted to emphasize the positive news of job creation and further growth during these hard economic times.
With customer service being a critical success factor of the Middlegate Group, the strategic approach has proven to deliver the necessary results. And the future looks bright, as both companies plan further investments, with the second new warehouse in Hull already on the drawing board.
Job creation blocked
However, not everything is as positive as it could be. During his opening speech, Mr. Notman sincerely expressed his worries to remain convinced that Hull is the strategic gateway needed:” I would like to remark that the expected growth is not blocked by the economic crisis, but rather by a slow administration where the necessary licenses take ages to retain and local emotions stand in the way of job creation. We find this to be a real threat to our business and the going forward of our company here in Hull. We hope this will not force us to move on and find other strategic places.” But Mr. Notman did end by emphasizing that he truly believes Middlegate Europe needs to expand in the Hull region and become a leading Green Logistics player in the Port of Hull.
20.000.000 pound investment for Perpetum Sun
More positive news was heard when a planned investment of 20.000.000 pounds in the coming 2 years was announced for Perpetum Sun. Both commercial businesses and land owners will be targeted to help drastically reduce their operational energy costs and meanwhile lower the CO2 emissions with an impressive 7.000.000 kilos.
The future is bright
Mr. Notman finished his speech with the promise that new businesses will be started up in Hull and Ports that are important to the UK for both solar and logistic. “And I hope Hull will finally welcome us with open arms and help us build a flourishing work environment here”.
